Storyline Photography: A Million Dreams
concept:
Dreaming has always been go–to escape route in the sense of adding a little spice in life. My imagination have helped me overcome my troubles, firing up the drive to work harder, pushing me harder, helped me go through tough times. My dreams are all very precious and I will always hold them closely. Using the theme taken from a musical song, I picked a million dreams as the song that I am going to interpret in pictures. From the movie itself, it encourages the audience to dreams as high as the sky. There is no limit to what we can achieve. This song really grabbed my attention and how the director is able to show the power of dreaming. The clips of this song from the movie showed how someone can turn their situation upside down by seeing the good side of things and adding a little imagination to it. Using this concept, I really want to portray the view of hopefulness, one who is full of dreams and imagination. I want to show how I felt and how I see the world through my eyes. This song is perfect in a way to help create that story

settings:
During the indoor scenes in my room, I set the aperture to f2.8, had the iso on 100-150, and shutter speed at a range of 1/125-1/500. I changed the shutter speed frequently since I wanted to capture different moods and I had to quickly adjust to the sunlight (since it was early). So some scenes had different settings since the sun was rising or there were clouds covering it. For lighting, I only use 1 source of light, that is the natural light from my window. To adjust it, I bounced it off a metallic styrofoam that was used for packaging. #recycling. For the outdoor scenes, I set my aperture to 4, shutter speed to 1/125 and iso to 200. I want to get the full clear white sky so I made the settings to be bright. As for the lighting I only used the natural sunlight too, so I adjusted the settings according to the light. For the light painting, I set my shutter speed on bulb, and aperture on f11. iso is set to 100
